The weather has backed off a little at last, with enough fine weather to allow us with withdrawal symptoms to get out on the water

ONTO THE REPORTS:

SURF:
Customer Laurie headed down to Kilcunda last weekend.  He fished the run in tide to land good numbers of salmon to w whopping 3.5 kilos. The larger fish were taken on a blue / white coloured surf popper.

GUNNAMATTA:
Customer Wayne Busby fished the afternoon tide at Gunnamatta surf beach on Saturday. He managed 10 nice salmon ranging 750g to a kilo. Blue bait and pipis were the most productive baits.

WESTERN PORT:

Regular Customer Ron Smith fished with the YOU FISH TV Crew on the Tyabb Bank last weekend. Using pink, blue and green squid jigs they managed 7 calamari to 1.2 kilos drifiting the area.

CORINELLA:
Customer Jeremy fished the Corinella region during the week. He fished with pilchards head on a Gummy Gotcha Rig to land 3 Gummy’s to 3.5ft in length. Jeremy also saw and nearby boat land a 5ft Bronze Whaler shark on a Snapper Snatcher Rig.

BLACK ROCK:
I headed out with mate Craig Seiginor and Robert on Tuesday. We fished along the edge of the reef around Black Rock. We managed around 15 pinkie snapper to 30cm. Craig and Robert did well with 3” Bass Minnow soft plastics while i used the Sonic Boom Vibe lures which were equally as effective.

SORRENTO:
I also headed out on Wednesday Morning with Phil Stevens from Rip Charters in search of some calamari. Although there a little touchy we managed a few using Brown Harimatsu Jigs. While drifting I also noticed a few boats anchored just in front of the Sorrento boat ramp. They must have been in only 2 metres of water and were smashing the garfish.

SORRENTO/PORTSEA:
Charlie Micallef from Savage Seas Adventures reports the capture of 3 early season snapper this week ranging 3-4 kilos. The fish were taken on live calamari baits.

OUT OF TOWN:
MARLO:

Twin staff members Adam Ring and Mitch Chapman headed to Marlo for the Past few days. The boys fished the Snowy, Brodribb and the Entrance itself. Over three days they managed good numbers of perch, bream, tailor and trevally. They found success using Ecogear VX 35 and Soft plastics lures.
